I’m sure this title is terribly confusing. I mean how in the world are deviled eggs & cookie decorating even slightly related? Let me show you friends!
The ‘missing link’ in the post is the Rubbermaid TakeALong deviled egg tray. First we’ll fill it with creamy deviled eggs using Grandma’s recipe. Then we’ll do something a little unexpected & fill with sprinkles & candies to make a cookie decorating kit!

So Let’s get going folks. First up these classic deviled eggs.

I love timeless recipes like deviled eggs & my grandma has been making the best variety since long before I arrived. She taught how to make them when I was about 8 years old & I’ve been at it ever since! Her secret is adding in a few packets of sweetener, but I use regular sugar. Her delicious deviled eggs are often more lovingly referred to as ‘angeled’ eggs & are a necessity at every holiday! Most especially the upcoming ones, Thanksgiving & Christmas.

To make a batch of your own, you’ll need eggs, of course, plus mayo, mustard, apple cider vinegar & sugar.

Boil the eggs for about 8 mins then turn off heat & cover for 5 min. Remove from stove & drain. Cover the eggs in cold water & peel them. I’ve found that super fresh eggs peel the best & come out the most perfect. I crack the eggshell on all sides before peeling so it slides off pretty easily.

Once all your eggs are peeled, slice them in half (longways) & empty the yolks into a bowl. They should fall right out when you turn the egg over & squeeze ever so gently. If not, use a spoon to help the yolk out.

Dump all the yolks into a food processor with the mayo, mustard, vinegar & sugar. Pulse until creamy texture is achieved. If you don’t have a food processor, you can do it the good old fashioned way- with a fork. This method simply achieves a creamier filling.

Add salt & pepper to taste.

For extra fanciness, spoon the filling into a plastic baggie & cut the tip. Pipe filling into each egg. You can simply drop a spoonful of filling into each egg too.

Yum! These little guys go quick…watch out! Store in the fridge until ready for serving as the perfect holiday appetizer.

Feel free to top with paprika or spice of choice. We prefer them just like this!

Now onto part 2- Using the Rubbermaid TakeALong deviled egg tray for a cookie decorating kit!

DIY Cookie Decorating Kit! | #Ad #ShareTheHoliday #GiftIdeas

I love the idea of giving gifts that inspire family memories, like this cookie decorating kit. Rather than gifting them finished cookies, I give them all the tools to decorate their own, including plain baked sugar cookies in Christmas shapes. That way they don’t have to worry about any prep work.

To put one together you need the Rubbermaid TakeALong deviled egg tray & deep square container. You also need sugar cookies in various Christmas shapes, various holiday sprinkles & candies, icing & ribbon. You can make the cookies yourself or buy them already made. Fill the Rubbermaid TakeALong deep square container with the baked cookies.

Wrap up the whole kit with icing & a big bow. I stuck candy canes in the bow for good measure.

Obviously, this gift is a little fragile so warn recipients not to turn the container upside down!
