Boy have I got a fun & creative idea for you!
Let mom “plant” her own polka dot seeds then see what she’s grown on Mother’s Day morning.
A little confused? Let me show you just what I mean!
First you need a pot. Or something similar to a pot. A jar will work too. Basically anything since it won’t be holding a real living plant.
Then you’ve got to paint the pots. Do something to pretty ’em up! I painted mine a pretty green & bright white.
Then after they dried, I added polka dots! Cause every mom loves polka dots. Right? I don’t know, I’m not a mom. But I’m sure I’ll still love polka dots when I am one. I might even love them more than I do right now.
I used the end of my foam brush to make the dots. No need to overcomplicate things.
If moms going to plant a garden, she’s going to need seeds. So punch her some holes out of any paper & store them in this cute little printable/foldable envelope I made you.
Fold up the bottom corner, then both sides & secure with a strip of wash tape. Fill the pouch with the ‘seeds.’
Place a piece of craft foam in your pot & cover with a filler, like Easter grass (I know you have some leftovers) or shredded paper. I also hot glued some coordinating trim (Target one Spot) around the top of my pot.
Tip of the Day: The Dollar Tree has craft foam for guess how much? Only a dollar!
Present it to mom the eve of Mother’s Day.
My mom got to do hers a little early, for experimental purposes of course. We had to make sure the seeds worked! 😉
She sprinkled on the seeds.
She waited a bit & this entire polka dot garden just popped up out of nowhere! It was straight out of a movie!
Mother’s Day Magic!
So while mom’s sleeping peacefully dreaming of a clean house, you’ll need to ‘grow’ her garden for her.
Print out this cute sheet of polka dots then cut them all out & tape them to some sticks or straws. I left some blank polka dots so you write your own messages to mom as well. Use polka dot straws for extra theme points! I added golden Oreos to mine because they’re polka dot shapes too. Use whatever cookie your mom prefers. Or go the extra mile & add cake pops!
Tip of the Day #2: Walmart has an end cap full of polka dot party supplies. The sign says $.97 but they rang up at $.50 & $.10! Go buy them now!
Here’s that handy dandy printable for ya. Download the PDF or right click/save as.
Even better mom can reuse her pot to store kitchen utensils, writing utensils, candy, all sorts of things! She’ll remember her polka dot garden every time she uses it.
Get to growin’ your mom a polka dot garden!
I’ve got some printable bookmarks for mom too!
