Blue Bell has always been at the top of my list. There is no other brand of ice cream to me. Their mint chocolate chip flavor is my all time favorite. My 2nd favorite flavor is their cookies & cream. So it was only destiny for them to come out with mint cookies & cream!
Which is actually not made with Oreos as I’d assumed all my life. When me & my friend, Jordan went on a personal tour of the Blue Bell Factory in Brenham a few weeks ago, I learned that all the mix-ins are homemade in their bakery. They make their own chocolate sandwich cookies for the ice cream. Makes it even better!
This is a lovely dessert for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, especially with a gold coin surprise waiting at the bottom!
Grab the ice cream, of course, some milk, whipped cream, & mini Oreos for
If you don’t live in one of the 20 something states now selling Blue Bell, move to Texas! Or get some other brand, if you must.
Let you ice cream soften up a bit for easy scooping.
Scoop about 7-8 scoops of ice cream into your blender. This make 2 large servings or 4 smaller ones. Unless you really like your ice cream, in which case this is only 1 serving.
I used a cup of milk. You may want to use more or less depending on your preference & how soft your ice cream is.
Blend away! Decide if you need to add more ice cream or more milk & blend again if necessary.
Place a gold foil wrapped chocolate coin in the bottom of each glass for a fun St. Patty’s treat.
I stole these from my Nana & now she probably knows…sorry Nana! Thanks for the chocolate coins. 😉
Top with whipped cream & a couple of mini Oreos. Yum!!
This tastes like the mint Oreo blizzard at Dairy Queen & the mint Oreo shake at Steak & Shake. So happy Blue Bell introduced this flavor!
